Cagewarriors 8

"Brutal Force"

September 18, 2004

Octagon Centre

Sheffield, England

The 8th Installment of the Cagewarriors Fighting Championships is coming to the Octagon Centre in the

Steel City of Sheffield, England on Saturday, September 18th . Entitled “Brutal Force” CWFC 8 will have at

least eight Professional MMA and "K-1 Style” rules fights with three big title fights. Also the Innovator of the

UK MMA Scene, Mr. Dougie Truman will be debuting a new state of the art 32ft octagon. This amazing

structure is made of titanium & light alloys and includes a built in outer ring walkway and hydraulic lifting

catwalk. This will once again set the standard for other UK and European events by not only being the

biggest but also the best.

The fights that have been announced so far at “Brutal Force” include an international clash for the vacant

CWFC Lightweight Title as the American UFC veteran Gerald "The Finishing Machine" Strebendt (8-5-0)

takes on the much hyped Irishman Dave "The Big Bad Wolf" Roach (2-0-0) in a contest which will bring

their long running war of words to an abrupt end.

The CWFC Heavyweight champion Tengiz Tedoradze (10-2-0) will be in Sheffield defending his title against

Craig Amer (5-1-0) in a huge clash between two heavy hitting heavyweights.  Will Tedoradze show why

some rate him at the best active Heavyweight in the UK Scene or will Amer upset the odds and end

Tedoradze's nine fight winning streak.

The third title fight of the night sees the CWFC Welterweight Champion Abdul Mohamed (4-1-0) take on

Paul "Semtex" Daley (3-2-0) in a classic grappler vs. striker showdown. As the stand up skills of Daley will

go against the power based wrestling game of Mohamed in an awesome striker vs. grappler confrontation.

Another confirmed clash is the welterweight encounter between Paul “Hands of Stone” Jenkins (22-15-3)

and Lee Doski. Jenkins who has held numerous UK MMA titles and is on a good run of form, takes on

Doski who has 3 straight submission victories and like Jenkins, can mix it up both standing and on the floor.

Next up is a lightweight contest featuring Mark Spenna and Ollie Ellis. Spenna who is noted as a slick

submission specialist will pit his wits against the submissions skills of Ellis who nullified the flashy BJJ

offence of the Cage Rage Lightweight Champion Jean Silva in July when they battled to a draw.

Also just announced is the CWFC debut of the 3 time Ultimate Combat veteran Tom Blackledge who will

take on John Weir (3-2-0) who also makes his CWFC debut in the light-heavyweight division. Both men

have been up against top opponents in the past and CWFC Promoter Dougie Truman said he “predicts a

toeto toe battle between these two guys.”

So stayed tuned to for more news and fight features; including Play by Play action of

major UK events. And watch out as the Cagewarriors Fighting Championship the “Ultimate Full Contact

Combat Sport” hits Sheffield with “Brutal Force” this September 18th.
