Team Schiavo and Team Fernandez to merge

to become the “French Top Team”

Paris, France (PRWEB) May 12, 2004 – Two of France's most successful MMA teams have merged to

create one dominant French team and take on new challenges in mixed martial arts. Both teams, having

created names for themselves in the UK and worldwide, have agreed that a united team was the next step

necessary to continue their stellar rise.

With Emmanuel Fernandez having submitted Ian Butlin for the CageWarriors featherweight title this

weekend and Samy Schiavo taking on submission expert Gerald Strenendt in Cage Rage to continue his

climb in the UK lightweight rankings, new, amalgamated team manager, Darragh Creamer (DROC to the

internet initiated) suggested both should work together to help formulate a strategy and prepare for their

fights. Consequently, Fernandez will be traveling down to Avignon to stay with the Schiavo brothers and help

Samy prepare for his Jiu-Jitsu opponent.

The Players:

Samy Schiavo

Since a loss to Jean Silva, (arguably as a result of having taken the fight on short notice and still putting on

the UK fight of the year) Samy Schiavo took some time off and traveled to Brazil Dojo to work on his ground

game and strategy. He then dominated his comeback fight beating former CageWarriors lightweight

champion Paul Sutherland in one round by Ground ‘N’ Pound. Samy was scheduled to take on the UK’s

top lightweight Dave Elliot on May 23rd but his opponent pulled out this week.  Samy’s next fight will

probably be against UFC Veteran Gerald Strebendt at Cage Rage 7 on July 10th.

Mohamed Khasha

19 year old Team Schiavo member ‘Phenom’ and UKMMAC welterweight champion Mohamed Khasha

continued to impress UK fans and promoter by destroying previously undefeated Abdul Mohamed in under

one minute at British UFC veteran Ian Freeman’s Pride and Glory in April.  Mohamed has impressed UK

MMA fans so much with his explosive style that he has been dubbed by many 'The Human KO Machine.'

Emmanuel Fernandez

Since winning his MMA debut against highly ranked UK lightweight Robbie Olivier in the first round,

Emmanuel Fernandez has not needed more than one round in his four subsequent matches, winning all of

them by triangle choke and culminating in his recent victory for the Cage Warriors title.  Emmanuels next

fight will be against UFC veteran Leigh Remedios at Cage Rage 7 on July 10th.

Emmanuel’s younger brother Frederic Fernandez made his victorious MMA debut on Extreme Brawl in

March and won a unanimous decision against the tough Mark Chen at Cage Warriors 7. His next fight will

pit him against Extreme Brawl British champion Ricky Moore.

Team Fernandez members Cedric Celerier and Ludovic Perez will also make their MMA debut's on the

Extreme Brawl Card along with Team Schiavo member Laurent Colombeau.
