World GP 2004 in Seoul

K-1 has released some information for their July 17th event to take place in Seoul, South Korea. Former

Sumo champion Akebono will participate in an eight-man tournament with the winner gaining the right to

participate in the opening round of the K-1 World Grand Prix tournament to be held in September in Japan.

Also, former K-1 GP champion Peter Aerts, current K-1 GP champion Remy Bonjasky, and the hard

hitting New Zealander, TOA, are expected to participate on the card as well.

 

Eight -man tournament:

- Akebono

- Dolgorsuren Sumiyabazar

- A Korean Tae Kwon Do fighter to be named

- A Korean Silmu fighter (the original Korean version of sumo) to be named

- A Chinese fighter to be named

- A Muay Thai fighter to be named

- A couple of Japanese K-1 fighters will round out the tournament

- TOA

- Remy Bonjasky
