MFC announced that their next M-1 event will be held on October 9th (2004) in St. Petersburg (Russia) at the Ledovii Sport Palace. They're following up the Oct. 9th event with a show on December 4th in Moscow (Russia) at the Luzniki Sport Arena. Both events will feature eight-men tournaments with the October 9th show featuring 176-187lbs. fighters (middleweights) and the December 4th show featuring 205+ lbs. fighters (heavyweights). The October 9th event will be titled "Russia against the World" and some of the fighters expected to participate in the event are M-1 veteran Andrey Semenov, SuperBrawl veteran Denis Kang, Viking Fight veteran Mike Pyle, and DEEP\PRIDE Bushido veteran Ryo Chonnan.
Also, MFC announced that three Red Devil FT fighters are in the process of signing contracts with American promoters for Euphoria MFC. The three fighters from Red Devil are Roman Zentsov, Serguei Kaznovskii, and Serguei Goliaev. Zentsov and Kaznovskii would participate in an eight-man heavyweight tournament while Goliaev would participate in an eight-man lightweight tournament. The first of these events would be held on October 16th (2004) with the winners advancing to the December 11th event. The finals will be held on February 26th (2005). All the events would be held at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey (USA).
The line-up for the lightweight tournament has been set already. UFC veteran Yves Edwards will be facing ZST veteran Naoyuki Kotani. Next, another UFC veteran Hermes Franca will be taking on Extreme Challenge veteran Phil Johns. Another ZST veteran Rich "No Love" Clementi will do battle with the current Shooto welterweight champion Vitor Ribeiro. And Red Devil Team member Sergei Golyaev will face the current number one ranked Shooto welterweight Joachim Hansen to round out the lightweight tournament.
