Boxing Congratulations go out to Danny Garcia (from Jack Mosley's Gym) for winning his pro boxing debut on Friday night with a four round unanimous decision victory over Terry Smith. Also, Chris Arreola won by first round TKO over Ed Mosley on the same card. And in the main event, Juan Carlos Rubio won the vacant IBA Continental welterweight title by 10th round TKO over Raul Franco.
PRIDE FC Sportsnavi is reporting that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira had an injury to his left arm (elbow) prior to his participation in Final Conflict (heavyweight GP - August 15th ) and will now need time for it to heal (Nogueira has a crack in his bone). The proposed rematch between PRIDE heavyweight Grand Prix finalists Fedor Emelianenko and Nogueira for October to determine the GP champion will now be delayed - and at the earliest, could be held on New Years Eve.
