Middleweight Grand Prix 2005

   

 

PRIDE released some information regarding their 2005 middleweight Grand Prix tournament according to

Sportsnavi. It will be the same format as the heavyweight Grand Prix currently taking place with 16

participants and three rounds scheduled throughout the year. The opening round is currently scheduled to

begin around March \ April of 2005. There is a possibility, according to Sportsnavi, that the opening round

could take place in Las Vegas, Nevada (U.S.A.). Some of the fighters listed currently as participating

include:

 

- Wanderlei Silva (Chute Boxe)

- Hidehiko Yoshida (Yoshida Dojo)

- Kazushi Sakuraba (Takeda Dojo)

- Yuki Kondo (Pancrase ism)

- Kiyoshi Tamura (U-File Camp)

- seven others are almost decided upon including Ricardo Arona and Quenton Jackson

 

The Heavyweight Grand Prix for next year may also follow the same format as the middleweight GP with the

opening round possible for March \ April, the second round possible for May \ June, and the final round to

be held around  July \ August. Here too, the opening round has a possibility of taking place in Las Vegas,

Nevada (U.S.A.)
