Fight 1 - Heavyweight Bout Heath Herring wins by TKO (knees) at 1:55 of the first round over Hirotaka Yokoi
Herring comes out jabbing and then they clinch - Herring trying to clear some space for punches - Herring pushes Yokoi away - Yokoi comes in and Herring delivers a grazing right, sending Yokoi down - Herring chases him to the ground - Yokoi on all fours - Yokoi in the north\south position - Herring delivering knees with Yokoi on all fours - Herring delivers more knees - ref stops the bout to issue a warning to Herring (no knees to the back of the neck) - Back to fighting - Yokoi clinches, trying to take Herring down, Herring delivering punches to side of the ribs while in the clinch - Herring delivers straight right to jaw of Yokoi, sending him down - Yokoi, back in the north\south position - Herring delivers more knee's to the head - ref stops the fight
Fight 2 - Middleweight Bout Ricardo Arona wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 8:37 of the first round over Sergei Ignatev
Both come out and Arona tries a round house kick that misses - Arona throwing out the left jab, trying to measure Ignatev - Arona delivers a low Thai kick that lands - Ignatev comes in and Arona takes him down with a single leg - Arona attempts to get side mount but Ignatev puts him in the guard - Arona standing inside Ignatev's guard and punches down with a few rights that connect - Ignatev pulls him back in the guard - Arona gets the side mount - Ignatev scrambles - Arona gets Ignatev's back - Ignatev on all fours with Arona on his back - Ignatev is able to pull away and get back into Arona's guard - They were near the end of the ring so the ref puts them back in the middle - Arona lands a couple of rights from the guard - Arona lands a right and a left to Ignatev, but it doesn't look like he did any damage - Arona working for side-mount - Arona is able to get into half-guard - Ignatev tries to roll Arona - Arona gets Ignatev back again - Arona is able to stretch out Ignatev on the floor - Arona starts to deliver punches - Ignatev back on all fours - Arona stretches him back out on the floor - Arona goes for an arm bar but Ignatev gets a way - Arona is on his back now and is able to get the guard - Arona pushes Ignatev and lands a heel kick - ref stands Arona up as Ignatev was already standing - Both in center of the ring - Ignatev circling Arona - Arona comes in with a straight right that misses - Ignatev comes in for a takedown and Arona lands a good knee to the head - Ignatev tries to get Arona in his guard - Arona jumps into full mount - Arona lands some punches - Arona gets Ignatev's back - Arona gets a rear naked choke and Ignatev has to tap - Arona holds it a little longer than he should have - Arona received a yellow card for holding the choke too long - Arona goes over to Ignatev to show respect - Choke looked like it was on the jaw and not the neck
Fight 3- Heavyweight Bout Alexander Emelianenko wins by knockout (strikes) at :12 of the first round over James Thompson
Thompson comes out and rushes Emelianenko - Emelianenko delivers a jab as Thompson delivers a right - Emelianenko falls to the ground (more from a push) - Thompson goes after him on the ground - Emelianenko stand right up and both deliver punches - Emelianenko lands a left, then a right sending Thompson to one knee - Thompson gets right back up trying to deliver punches - Emelianenko then lands another right hook that dazes Thompson, then another left that sends Thompson down to the ground, ref steps in to stop the fight.
Fight 4- Middleweight Bout Alistair Overeem wins by TKO (cut) at 3:52 of the second round over Hiromitsu Kanehara
RD 1 Both come out to the center - Kanehara throws a round house left, Overeem blocks - Overeem comes in with a flying knee, Kanehara blocks - Overeem comes in with a knee - Kanehara tries for a take down - Overeem tries for a guillotine choke - Kanehara gets away from the guillotine - Both stand-up - Overeem comes in with a flyng knee - they clinch and they go down - Kanehara gets the guard - Overeem pulls away and stands-up - Overeem tells Kanehara to stand-up - both are standing - Overeem comes in, Kanehara takes him down - Overeem goes for another guillotine - Kanehara gets away from the guillotine again - both fighters stand-up and they clinch - They clinch and go down and get back up again - once again, Overeem comes at Kanehara and this time, Overeem lands in the full mount - Kanehara puts Overeem in the half-guard - Overeem lands a couple of good punches to the face of Kanehara from the half-guard - Overeem working the body and the head from the half-guard - Overeem still working the body and head of Kanehara from the half -guard - Overeem stands-up and tells Kanehara to stand-up - Overeem lands a good body kick and a straight right to the face - Kanehara falls to his back - Overeem pulls away and tells him to stand-up - Overeem wants to fight on top - Overeem comes in with a flying jump kick - Kanehara goes down for a takedown and Overeem jumps right over him - Both are standing-up - Overeem delivers a couple of good punches - Kanehara goes to his back and brings Overeem down - Overeem lands in side-mount - Kanehara turns and rolls Overeem - Overeem now on his back - Kanehara is in half-guard - Overeem pulls away and Kanehara lands a knee to the mid-section of Overeem - Both standing - Overeem comes in and Kanehara lands two front kicks to the mid-section of Overeem - Overeem comes in and they clinch - Kanehara falls to his back - after a few seconds, Overeem stands-up - ref tells Kanehara to stand-up - both fighters come in and they clinch - Overeem gets behind Kanehara with Kanehara trying to do a Kimura ala Sakuraba \ Gracie - Overeem sweeps Kanehara down - Kanehara attempting the kimura from his back - Overeem pulls away and gets out of it - after they scramble a little bit - the bell rings to end the round
Rd 2 Both come out and Overeem lands a knee - Kanehara falls back and Overeem tells him to stand-up - both exchange punches - Kanehara shoots in - Overeem pulls away - Overeem comes in and lands a few knees while Kanehara is on the gorund - no damage - Overeem pulls away and stands-up - Overeem comes in with a flying knee - Both clinch - Overeem delivering some good punches - As they clinch again, Kanehara pulls Overeem down - Overeem lands in the side-mount - Overeem delivering some good knees to Kanehara's head from the north\south position - Overeem stands-up and tells Kanehara to stand-up - Both come out and Overeem lands a few good knees that send Kanehara down - Kanehara on his back and the ref stands him up - Once again, Overeem comes in and gets Kanehara's back from the standing position - Kanehara trying a kimura ala Sakuraba \ Gracie - Overeem pulls away - Overeem lands some good punches and kicks to Kanehara's face - They clinch and Overeem lands some good knees to Kanehara face - Kanehara is cut and he falls to his back - the ref stops the fight to have the cut checked - doctor stops the fight - Big cut a underneath the right eye and nose of Kanehara
Fight 5 - Heavyweight Bout Mark Hunt wins by TKO (kick) at 6:23 of the first round over Dan Bobish
Bobish comes in for a takedown and Hunt delvers a couple of knees to the mid-section of Bobish - Bobish has both arms wrapped around Hunt - Bobish tries for a takedown but Hunt is able to stop him - As Bobish is pulling away, Hunt delivers a good upper-cut - Hunt pulls away, Bobish chases him - As Bobish is pushing Hunt back, Hunt delivers a knee to the face of Bobish - ref stops the fight to check cut on Bobish - Doctor says it's okay, they come back out - Bobish is able to take Hunt down and lands on the side mount - After a few seconds, the ref restarts them in the center - Hunt gives his back to Bobish on all fours attempting to stand up - Bobish able to bring Hunt back down from all fours to his belly - Bobish on the side of Hunt, delivering knees to the head of Hunt - Hunt can not stand-up as Bobish has all his weight on him - Hunt is on all fours - Bobish keeps delivering knees - doesn't look like the knees are doing much damage - Hunt scrambling underneath, attempting to change position - the ref restarts them in the center of the ring with Bobish in side mount (too close to the edge of the ring) - Bobish goes for a keylock but Hunt is able to pull away - Bobish is able to land a few shots on Hunt's face - Hunt scrambles a little bit from the bottom - Bobish lands a few hammerfist punches to the face of Hunt - Hunt trying to hold Bobish down - Hunt gives his back - Bobish gets a cross-face around Hunt's face - Unable to finish him - Hunt on all fours - Bobish on the side, almost behind Hunt, delivering punches to the side of the head of Hunt - Bobish delivering knees - ref warns Bobish not to knee to the back of the neck of Hunt - Both stand - Bobish looks tired -Bobish tries to come in but really sloppy - As Bobish comes in, Hunt delivers an uppercut and pushes Bobish to the side and down - Hunt comes in and delvers a knee coming down to the head of Bobish - Bobish tries to stand and Hunt delivers a round house kick to the rib-section of Bobish - Bobish goes down - Bobish can't stand-up - Hunt looks to be coming in for more punishment but the ref steps in and stops the bout - Bobish is exhausted (and\or hurt) and the ref knew it.
Fight 6 - Middleweight Bout Dan Henderson wins by TKO (dislocated shoulder) at 1:15 of the first round over Kazuhiro Nakamura
They come out and touch gloves - Nakamura runs in and Hendo lands an uppercut to the body - Hendo starts punching away and Nakamura pulls away - Once again, Nakamura comes in, they clinch - They go to the ground - they scramble - they stand-up in the clinch with Hendo having the control - Hendo has Nakamura in a head-lock from the side - Nakamura gets Hendo and lifts and does a mini-slam - Hendo scrambles and gets top position - Hendo starts to deliver some punches and knees as he scrambles to get the north\south position - ref steps in and stops the fight as he see's Nakamura in pain - possible dislocated shoulder. As Hendo walked out, he threw a pair of huge green Hulk look-a-like gloves that he walked in with to the crowd.
Fight 7 - Heavyweight Bout Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic wins by tapout (dislocated shoulder) at :46 of the first round over Josh Barnett
Both come out and throw punches - Cro Cop misses with a high kick - Barnett takes him down - Cro Cop has full guard - Barnett taps out - Barnett complaining about his left shoulder - It looks like they are popping Barnett's shoulder back in place or they are securing it against his body - On the replay, you can see that Barnett's left shoulder popped out when he put his left arm out to base to start punching but Cro Cop still had a hold of him - basically, Barnett pop his own shoulder out and had to tap out
Fight 8 - Middleweight Title Bout Wanderlei Silva wins by knockout (knee) at 3:26 of the second round over Quenton Jackson
RD 1 Both come out, they clinch - Silva tries to deliver some knees - Jackson doing well at holding Silva - Silva creates a little bit of space and tries to deliver punches - Both clinch - Silva delivers a couple of good knees to the side of Jackson - Jackson has Silva against the ropes - Jackson delivers a good knee - Silva complaining of a low knee - Both shake hands - Silva tries to punch - Jackson blocks really good - Silva throws some kicks - Jackson doing a great job at blocking - Jackson delivers a good jab to face of Silva - Silva working the knees - Silva tries to deliver a high knee but Jackson closes in - Both in a clinch - Silva tries a high kick and misses - Silva tries to punch - Jackson blocking well - Silva tries to come in and deliver a knee - Jackson takes Silva down with a headlock - Jackson has a cut underneath his eye - fight stopped to check cut - cut underneath left eye of Jackson - they continue - Jackson in full guard of Silva - Jackson working the body - throwing punches and elbows - Jackson punches to the body and goes to the head - Silva still working the guard - Jackson delivers punches to the body, then the face of Silva - Silva pushes Jackson away - Jackson comes back down and Silva almost gets Jackson in a triangle - As Jackson lifts, Silva lets go as not to get slammed - Jackson goes back down and gets in the half-guard - Silva goes for a Kimura but Jackson holds him there - Silva unable to do anything - Silva goes back to full guard - Jackson working top position - Silva doing a good job at defense - Jackson still working from the top, throwing short punches to the side - Jackson delivers two good rights to the head of Silva - They scramble - Jackson tries to pass but Silva gets back in the full guard - Jackson delivers a good elbow to mid-section of Silva - Jackson pulls up and Silva delivers a good heel kick to the side of the shoulder of Jackson - Ref stands both back up - both get a yellow card - Both throw punches and miss - Silva delivers a good roundhouse kick to mid- section of Jackson - Jackson tries to come in but Silva throws some blows keeping Jackson at bay - Jackson delivers a right that stuns Silva - Silva goes down - Jackson follows Silva to ground - Jackson delivers a good knee to Silva - Jackson on side mount - Silva gets full guard - Silva tries a triangle but lets go as Jackson stands-up - Jackson delivers a good knee to head of Silva - Jackson kicking ass as bell rings - Jackson's left eye is swollen
RD 2 Both come out - Jackson looks tired - Silva lands a good jab - Jackson pushes forward - both trade blows - Jackson takes Silva down - As they scramble - Silva stands-up and comes back down in Jackson full guard - both get moved to center of the ring - Jackson in open guard - then closed guard - Silva delivering punches to Jackson's face - Jackson working the guard - both seem to take a short break - Silva stands-up and tries a stomp, a soccer kick and another stomp - Jackson stands back up - both clinch - they're both tired - Jackson moving back - Silva lands a low kick - Silva throws a few punches but Jackson blocks - both throw jabs and miss - Jackson goes forward and they clinch - both push away - both in center of ring - Silva lands a good right that stuns Jackson - Jackson pushes forward and Silva wraps his hands around his head - Jackson tries to push forward even more - Silva throwing knees and lands one that knocks out Jackson. Silva and Jackson hug and exchange words after fight - You could tell both are acknowledging each other as great fighters. Great Fight!
