Aaron Wetherspoon on top at ECF
Fight 1 They both came out strong. Newton lands a straight right that sends Menendez to the ground on his back. Newton charges in and gets caught in a heel hook while standing. He was able to muscle his way out of the heel hook and back up they went. Menendez takes Newton down with a double leg and keeps him down for a while on the side mount position. Newton was too strong and was able to get up and deliver strikes. That puts Menendez back on the mat but this time Newton starts delivering punch after punch to Menendez's face. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight. Winner - Manuel Newton in the first round.
Fight 2 stand up game - though a little dazed he is able to pull Lopez into his guard. Lopez scrambles. It looks like Lopez has the fight under control. But just a I think that - Jason catches Lopez with an arm bar. What a great move! Winner - Jason by arm bar.
Fight 3 Chris Ruiz vs. Aaron Wetherspoon Wetherspoon came in very intense! He launches at Ruiz with a right - just missing or barely catching his chin. Ruiz clinches. Wetherspoon picks up Ruiz and slams him! It was a huge slam and the crowd went wild. Ruiz gets to his hands and knees while avoiding some punches to the face. Wetherspoon keeps him in that position and delivers punches to the ribs and a couple to the face - corner throws in the towel. Winner - Wetherspoon by ref stoppage - corner throws in the towel.
Fight 4 Skinner automatically won the fight because Williams was a no show. Winner - Skinner by default
Fight 5 "Scarry"
Jerry vs. Kerry Shall an arm bar. Jerry executes the arm bar. Winner - Jerry by arm bar
Fight 6 Nate
Schroeter vs. Lowden Sincaib Schroeter takes his back but Sincaib rolls onto Schroeters full guard. Sincaib was delivering some punches to Schroeters face. Sincaib positions himself on the side mount while he strikes. He then catches Schroeter with a Shoulder lock/American lock. Winner - Sincaib by Shoulder/American Lock
Fight 7 Antonio Mckee vs. Karo Parisyan Both fighters look full of energy as they enter the ring. The crowd seemed to be yelling "Karo." The fight begins - Mckee shoots - tries to take Parisyan down but Parisyan seems to be two moves ahead of Mckee. Every time they clinch, Parisyan is already working for the submission while Mckee is still trying to finish the same move. Parisyan just seems to be the better and stronger fighter. And by looking at their bodies, you would think that Mckee was the stronger of the two. There were a few times when they both fell out of the ring. The rest of the first round went the same way with Mckee attempting to take Parisyan down but not able to and Karo able to strike while Mckee shot in.
Round two was the same as the first. And when Mckee did take Parisyan down, Parisyan went from one submission attempt to another. It seemed that Parisyan just had Mckee's number. Toward the end of the fight, Parisyan was able to get in the full mount - well, a full mount but on the side and started punching Mckee until the end of the round. Parisyan is declared the winner by unanimous decision. Winner - Parisyan by Unanimous decision
