Only One Can Be #1

Garcia and Trombley Lock up at The Palace This Saturday

May 7, 2011

The Palace of Auburn Hills

Auburn Hills, Michigan

Sooner or later, the two toughest kids on the block are going to fight.

After a long build-up of anticipation among MMA insiders, Shamir Garcia (13-2), rated the number one

amateur light heavyweight in Michigan, and Lee Trombley (7-3), rated number two, will finally face each other

in a five-round battle for Garcia's Impact Fight League Light Heavyweight Championship in the main event of

this Saturday's (May 7) Donofrio Entertainment (in association with Impact Fight League and Palace Sports

and Entertainment) "MAYhem at the Palace" MMA event at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Garcia vs. Trombley is just one fantastic battle on a card loaded with three title fights, several thrilling

undercard match-ups and a cross promotion with WRIF to name the Official Rock Girl Ring Girl Ambassador

for the event.

"This is going to be a war," admitted event promoter Joseph Donofrio of Donofrio Entertainment of his main

event. "These two are probably both in the top five in the entire Midwest. This fight has been a long time in

the making because Trombley thinks he can beat Garcia and doesn't appreciate him being rated #1. Plus he

wants to take Garcia's belt from him.

Garcia trains out of Cooper's Muay Thai in Detroit and is a Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu specialist with a wrestling

background. The heavily muscled Trombley is a stand-up specialist with more of a boxing game. He trains at

the Proving Grounds in Waterford.

Garcia's trainer, Al Cooper, says although this will be the toughest fight of his man's career, the plan will be

to beat Trombley at his own game. "Shamir wants to go toe-to-toe with this guy. We believe he can beat

him, but it won't be easy, Trombley is a very powerful guy."

"MAYhem at the Palace" will feature full-contact cage fights between the best area fighters, plus, as a very

special cross-promotion, lucky listeners will score tickets to the event plus their own WRIF Man, or WoMan,

Card. And as a very special bonus, one lucky WRIF listener will have the ultimate opportunity at the event...

the opportunity to be the Official Rock Girl Ring Girl Ambassador.

Tickets for MAYhem at the Palace are available at Palacenet.com, The Palace box office, and all

TicketMaster outlets, or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. The action starts at 7:00 PM, with doors opening at 6

PM. Special VIP Cageside Tables are available by calling 248.770.6000.
