K-1 World Max 2005 Eight Bouts Added

Boxer Michael Lerma (29-10-1, 20 KOs), former WBC Continental Americas super welterweight champion, returns to K-1 since losing his debut last October 13, 2004 to Genki Sudo via second round TKO (under K-1 kickboxing rules) - This time out, Lerma faces Judo champion Yoshihiro Akiyama in an MMA bout. Akiyama has a submission win (arm bar) over another former boxer, Frans Botha (at K-1 Dynamite, December 31, 2004). Also expected to participate on the card - K-1 Max stand-out John Wayne Parr and ZST stand-out Hideo Tokoro. Previously announced, former boxing Japanese middleweight champion Satoru Suzuki (23-6, 15 KOs) and former boxing Japanese Jr. middleweight champion Akira Ohigashi (39-8-3, 26 KOs) will face Mike Zambidis and Albert Kraus, respectively. Plus 2005 K-1 Max World Champion Andy Souwer will face K-1 veteran Kozo Takeda. K-1 bouts are scheduled for three rounds (three minutes each round) with a one round extension if needed. K-1 MMA bouts are scheduled for three rounds (five minutes each round).
