MFC cuts Fioravanti

Two devastating knockout losses cost 'Italian Tank'

The Maximum Fighting Championship announced today that welterweight Luigi Fioravanti has been released

from his contract.

Fioravanti has lost both of his fights in the MFC and the decision was made that the American Top Team

product from Coconut Creek , Florida , was no longer a viable figure in the organization’s 170-pound ranks.

“It is disappointing but in the end a necessary move,” noted MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich. “The entire

Maximum Fighting Championship staff has a great deal of respect for Luigi, especially his very likeable

nature, but it was clear after his performance at MFC 25 that Luigi’s talents aren’t up to competing at the top

level.”

Fioravanti suffered a third-round TKO defeat at the hands of Pete Spratt at MFC 25: Vindication. It was

Fioravanti’s second straight brutal loss in the MFC following a devastating third-round knockout dealt out by

John Alessio at MFC 22 last October.
