Melendez vs. Sato

Shooto announced that Gilbert Melendez, Shooto's number one ranked lightweight fighter in both World

and Pacific-Rim rankings, will face the world third ranked and the current Pacific-Rim lightweight champion

Rumina Sato in a Class A lightweight bout on Shoot's August 20th card. Class A bouts are three rounds

(five minutes each round). Class B bouts are two rounds (five minutes each round). Records are from Shooto

and reflect Shooto participation (i.e. a record of 0-0 would mark the debut of a fighter in Shooto).

Line-up so far:

Fight 1 - Class A Welterweight Bout

4th ranked Mitsuhiro Ishida (7-2-1) vs. 5th ranked Takashi Nakakura (6-1)

Fight 2 - Class B 2005 Rookie Tournament Semi-Final Lightweight Bout

Kyoutarou Nakao  (1-0-1) vs. Nishioka Yutuka (2-0)

Fight 3 - Class A Lightweight Bout - Added

# 1 ranked Gilbert Melendez (2-0) vs. 3rd ranked Rumina Sato (21-7-1)

- Hayato "Mach" Sakurai (Former Shooto Middleweight Champion\ PRIDE Bushido veteran)
