STRIKEFORCE World Light Heavyweight Champion “King Mo’’ Lawal (left) weighed in at 203 ¾ pounds

and challenger Rafael “Feijao’’ Cavalcante measured 203 ½ pounds during Friday’s weigh in at Toyota

Center in Houston.

Lawal and Feijao will collide in the SHOWTIME® televised event beginning LIVE at 10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed

on the West Coast.  A full, non-televised undercard will precede the televised portion at Toyota Center.

Cavalcante, a winner of five of his last six starts, faces perhaps his toughest opponent yet in Lawal, a two-

time NCAA Division I All-American and Big 12 wrestling champion for Oklahoma State University.

Former Green Beret and American military hero Tim Kennedy (left) tipped the scales at 185 pounds and

Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza weighed in at 184 ¾ pounds.  The two will battle for the vacant STRIKEFORCE

Middleweight title in Saturday’s co-feature.

A former sniper for the U.S. Special Forces, Kennedy is one of MMA’s fastest rising stars.

The Brazilian Souza, a world-renowned grappler, will be getting his first shot at a world title after winning

multiple Jiu-Jitsu championships.

Former world champ KJ Noons (left) measured 156 ¼ pounds and Jorge Gurgel weighed in at 154 ¾

pounds.  A Houston favorite, Noons was linebacker at nearby Clements High School in Sugarland, Texas,

while the explosive Gurgel is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt and UFC veteran.

Unbeaten and rising heavyweight star Bobby Lashley (left) weighed in at 246 pounds and Chad Griggs

weighed in at 228 ½ pounds.  Lashley, a former WWE superstar, will put his perfect record on the line

against Griggs, who has earned six of his eight victories in the first round with seven of eight coming by way

of knockout.

Undefeated heavyweight and two-time United States Olympic Games wrestling team member Daniel

Cormier, 249 pounds, will attempt to make it five wins in a row when he faces hard-hitting Jason Riley, 256

½ pounds, on the event’s undercard.

Welterweight prospect Andre Galvao, 170 ¾ pounds, will face Jorge Patino, 170 8/10 pounds, in another

undercard bout.  The Cormier-Riley and Galvao-Patino bouts will be streamed LIVE on Sherdog.com.

A local favorite, Noons, who is also a professional boxer, signed autographs for nearly an hour following

Friday’s packed weigh in.  Hundreds of fans lined the concourse at Toyota Center to witness the weigh in

and get autographs.

A former NCAA Division I national championship runner up at Oklahoma State University, Cormier has won

three of his four fights via knockout.

The entertaining and charismatic Gurgel was another fan favorite during Friday’s free, open to the public

event.
