The time has come once again…. Ultimate Grappling Challenge VI Annual Open European Championships Submission Wrestling and SHIDO MMA

Submission Wrestling and SHIDO MMA of our Organization. This year’s championships are a true test of will and skill under the professional rules for a real “Ultimate” Grappling Championship. NO time limits and NO points in all “Advanced” Submission Wrestling bouts! The only way to win is via submission! We also announce that we host again fights for the European SHIDO MMA Grand Prix (C-Class), too and we hereby invite all Mixed Fight/Vale Tudo Teams to participate. We have attached those Rules and Weight Divisions to this Invitation as well as all necessary information about the UGC VI, e.g. Hotel Information etc. We have to inform you that we have limited the number of Athletes to 8 Fighters in each Advanced Weight Division (16 Fighters in the -76,9 kg Advanced Division) and we will handle inscriptions on a “first come – first serve” basis. In the “Beginners” Division there is no limit of participators, and we also ask you to send your children and junior students to this event.

The four previous events have shown fighters from UFC, USS, ADCC, M1, 2H2H, Shooto, BJJ, Pancrace, Mixed Fighting and many other Top-Labels from four continents, like Andreas Schmidt, Rob Sulski, Cyril Diabate, Moise Rimbon, Ludwig Strydom, Remco Pardoel, Bartolome Aguilera, Filipo Stabile and many others! Absolute Class: Only fighters, who registered for their own weight division, can additionally sign in to fight in the “Absolute Class” (limited to 16 athletes)

Liability Waiver: All athletes participate at their own risk. Each fighter has to proof a current medical
insurance. Each team has to
sign a Liability Waiver at the Weight-In. The matches in the “Beginners” division will last the following durations: • Children A: 3 minutes for each match • Children B: 4 minutes for each match • Children C: 6 minutes for each match • Juniors A: 7 minutes for each match, 2 rounds in the finals • Juniors B: 8 minutes for each match, 2 rounds in the finals • Adults: 10 minutes for each match, 2 rounds in the finals
Tournament Style: Double KO-System. The winner of each match advances to the next round. The loser of a match enters a second pool, where he can fight again against other athletes, who have lost their matches. If a fighter looses his second fight, he is out of the tournament. The winner of the second pool can fight for the 3rd place in his division. This gives every athlete at least two fights in this tournament!
Age-/Weight-Classes: The following age- and weight-division will be in effect at this tournament: • Children A female and male (6, 7 and 8 years old): -25 kg, -30 kg, -35 kg, +35 kg • Children B female and male (9, 10 and 11 years old): -30 kg, -35 kg, -40 kg, +40 kg • Children C female and male (12 and 13 years old): -40 kg, -45 kg, -50 kg, +50 kg • Juniors A female and male (14 and 15 years old): -45 kg, -50 kg, -55 kg, -60 kg, +60 kg • Juniors B female and male (16 and 17 years old): -50 kg, -60 kg, -70 kg, +70 kg • Women (18 years +): -54,9 kg, -65,9 kg, +66 kg • Men (18 years +): -65,9 kg, -76,9 kg, -87,9 kg, -98,9 kg, +99,0 kg
If a division shows only two or less competitors the promoters will put the fighters of this division to the next higher/lower weight division.
Clothing: Fight-Shorts or suitable Clothes. Dogi, Kimono, Wrestling Shoes, Rashguards or T-Shirts are optional. Kneepads etc. may be worn.
Mat: Mat Area is 7x7 m, no cage or fence. If the fighters go out of this area the Referee will restart the fight in the center of the mat in the same position they were when they left the mat. If the fighters were standing they will start again facing each other standing in the center of the mat.
Illegal/Legal Techniques and Points: The rules are modified for children, juniors and adults in the “Beginners” division. The following rules apply: Children A: 1. No chokes are allowed 2. No locks to the leg and feet are allowed 3. No throws, where opponent will be thrown to the head or neck 4. No manipulation of small joints (fingers and toes). At least three fingers or toes must be gripped. 5. No attacks to pressure-points 6. No neck cranks 7. No grabbing in the face, to the hair or to the ears 8. If a fighter can throw his opponent and ends up passed the the guard he will be awarded 2 points (1 point if the throw ends in the guard) 9. Jumping to the guard will not be awarded with points 10. If a fighter can escape the guard position by passing the legs completely and secure a dominant position (side mount, kesa-gatame), he will be awarded 2 points 11. If a fighter can secure a mount position for at least three seconds with dominant control over his opponent he will be awarded 3 points 12. If a fighter can secure a back mount position for at least three seconds with dominant control over his opponent he will be awarded 4 points 13. The referee can stop the fight at any time, when a lock is applied properly or one fighter is too dominant

• Disqualification
Fight Time: There is NO time-limit for the fights and NO points will be scored! A fight ends only by submission, referee stoppage or disqualification.
Tournament Style: KO-System. The winner of a match advances to the next round, the loser is out! The losers of the semi-finals will fight for the 3rd place.

Penalties: • Stalling = -1 Point • Running away = -1 Point • If a fighter cumulates three penalties during a match, he will be disqualified
The winner will be decided according to: • If one competitor gives up or submits by tapping the leg, arm or verbally • If referee feels one competitor is unable to defend himself or feels he is in danger, the referee will stop the fight and declare the winner • If a fighter breaks the rules twice he will be disqualified by the referee • In case of a draw, there will be an overtime, where the fighter, who scores the first point, will be declared the winner (sudden death rule)

• Points Fight Time: Each match goes for two (2) rounds of five (5) minutes duration with a one (1) minute interval.
Tournament Style: There is only one match in every weight division with selected fighters from Europe, to determine the new European SHIDO MMA Grand Prix winner in each division.
Age-/Weight-Classes: Men (18 years +): -70 kg, -77 kg, -84 kg, -93 kg, -120 kg
Clothing: Fight-Shorts only. All athletes must wear a groin-cup and a mouth-piece. Official gloves will be provided by the promoter. No bandages, pads or other equipement is allowed.
Mat: Mat Area is 7x7 m, no cage or fence. If the fighters go out of this area the referee will restart the fight in the center of the mat in the same position they were when they left the mat. If the fighters were standing they will start again facing each other standing in the center of the mat.
Legal Techniques: • Any kind of choke (except for using the hand for closing the windpipe). • Any arm bar, shoulder lock or wristlock • Any leg lock or ankle lock • Heel hooks and twisters are permitted • Any throws and takedowns • Kicks and knee strikes to the head, body, arms and legs during stand-up fighting • Punches to the head, body, arms and legs during stand-up fighting • Elbow strikes to the body, arms and legs during stand-up fighting • Punches, kicks, elbow strikes and knee strikes to the body, arms and legs during ground fighting
Illegal Techniques: • Neck cranks • No slamming • No stomping on the feet or hands of the opponent • No eye gouging or fish hooking • No grabbing the ears • No hair pulling • No finger or toe holds • No thumbing • No scratching and pinching • No biting • No touching groin area • No slippery substances allowed on body or clothing
Securing Points: • All fights will be scored by a 10-Point-Must System by 3 (three) Judges • In case of a draw in a match the Referee will declare the winner
How you can win: The winner will be decided according to: • If one competitor gives up or submits by tapping the leg, arm or verbally • If one competitor gets knocked out or is unable to continue the fight in a proper way • If Referee feels one competitor is unable to defend himself or feels his life is in danger, the Referee will declare the winner • If a Fighter breaks the rules twice he will be disqualified by the Referee
