W1: High Voltage

Newton vs. Carter

October 10, 2009

Robert Guertin Arena

Gatineau, Quebec (Canada)

On Saturday October 10th, W1 MMA returns with its most explosive event yet as THE SCORE presents

W1: HIGH VOLTAGE, live from Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau.

The event will feature a main event that fight fans have asked for as CARLOS 'THE RONIN'‚ NEWTON

makes his much anticipated W1 return against 'MR. INTERNATIONAL' SHONIE CARTER for the W1

Welterweight Title. The legendary Newton made his Warrior-1 debut at W1: INCEPTION and won via TKO

against Nabil Khatib. Now he is back facing another MMA legend in 'Mr. International' Shonie Carter. Newton

was the first ever Canadian UFC Welterweight Champion and Carter was a former WEC Welterweight

Champion and one of the most electrifying fighters in MMA history. Their experience levels are unparalleled

as between them; they have fought in every major organization and against almost every major competitor.

They both want to add the W1 gold to their collection of championships.

In the co-main event, more gold will be on the line this time for the vacant W1 Bantamweight Title.

Undefeated REMI 'Bam Bam’ MORVAN from the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts will be facing former TKO

Bantamweight Champion Adrian ‘The Bully’ Wooley. Arguably the two top bantamweights in Canada have

been waiting for this fight for a long time and it is finally going to happen at W1: HIGH VOLTAGE.

Also on the card is a virtual who’s who in the Canadian MMA scene as Nabil “the Thrill” Khatib, Mark

“Boots” Holst, “The Pimp Daddy” Sean Pierson and Bruno “Le Commando” Hosier are also scheduled to

appear.   W1 also presents a special gift for our loyal fans in a special performance by Canadian Rock

sensation the Rehab Dolls!  Also expected to attend are some special MMA celebrities... look for

announcements shortly!
